Angusvale campground is located at the end of Mitchell River Road, further north along the Bairnsdale-Dargo Road/C601. Turn right off the C601 and follow the track for 16 kilometres. To access the eastern side of the park, turn right off the C601 onto Lindenow-Glenaladale Road. Cross the bridge over the Mitchell River and turn left to stay on.

Billy Goat Bend Camping Area. We stayed the one night at Mitchell River National Park before moving on to Lakes Entrance and Pettmans Beach Campground. It's an awesome stop for Melbournites on the way to the Gippsland and a beautiful area in its own right. I'm looking forward to coming back and braving some of the longer walks soon.

Mitchell River National Park is 320km east of Melbourne and 25km northwest of Bairnsdale.The river divides the park into two sections. From the Princes Hwy, approach the western section via Lindenow or Fernbank along the Bairnsdale‐Dargo Road to Waller Road. Access the eastern section via the Glenaladale Road and Weir Lane.

Drive: Departing the Gibb River Road, take the 4WD only Kalumburu Road and then the challenging Port Warrender Road to the Mitchell Falls campground carpark. The Mitchell River National Park covers a relatively small area of only 11 900 hectares in size, yet still contains some of the best forest country in Gippsland. There aren't many roads or tracks into the park, but there are a few great tracks as well as walking tracks to view the impressive river scenery, rainforest gullies, rugged landscapes and a range of other vegetation.

Mitchell River National Park is located 500km northwest of Kununurra. The park is only accessible by road in high clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles and high clearance single axle towable units. The track to the park is maintained on an irregular basis and may have wash-outs and corrugations.
